Overview of Sixth Form

Our Sixth Form is a welcoming and inspiring community where every student is known, valued, and supported. We encourage ambition and independence while fostering honesty, respect, and compassion. Students develop academically and personally in a lively, positive environment designed to help them achieve their best.

Sixth Form students benefit from their own dedicated area with study spaces, computer access, and facilities for refreshments and relaxation. This balance of independence and support helps prepare them for the next stage of their lives.

Support Every Step of the Way

We believe every young person deserves the right guidance to succeed. Alongside excellent teaching, our students receive outstanding pastoral care and one-to-one support. Our Sixth Form team helps students to develop self-discipline, confidence, and hope for the future.

Our enrichment programme includes:

  • CV and interview workshops
  • Personal statement and UCAS guidance
  • Mock job interviews
  • Apprenticeship application support
  • Young Enterprise
  • MIND mentoring training
  • Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE)

Extended Development and Opportunities

All students are invited to take part in the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which develops independent research and project skills valued by universities and employers.

We also work closely with businesses, universities, and community partners to give our students opportunities to explore career pathways and future study options.

Principal Insight

Our Young Enterprise team were proud winners of Company of the Year 2023 at the Chiltern Finals Showcase – a wonderful achievement that reflects our students’ creativity and determination.

Student Voice

Life in our Sixth Form is shaped by our students. To give you a real insight, watch our Sixth Form Life video, written and produced by our students themselves.

Dress Code

As the oldest students in our Academy, Sixth Formers are role models for younger pupils. While there is no set uniform, we expect them to dress smartly and professionally, reflecting the high standards of the Academy. Clothes should be suitable for a workplace environment – such as business suits, ties, smart trousers, or skirts.

Mobile Phones and Technology

We want students to make the best use of technology while also respecting the learning environment. Our Wireless and Mobile Technology Policy sets out clear expectations for the safe and responsible use of devices. By following this, students learn self-discipline and ensure that technology supports, rather than distracts from, their education.

Attendance and Conduct

All students sign the Sixth Form Contract with Attendance Protocol, which sets out the responsibilities and expectations that come with being part of our Sixth Form community.
