Our connection to the Church of England helps guide our vision—Create, Aspire and Excel—encouraging every student to “live life in all its fullness” (John 10:10).
We welcome students from all faiths and backgrounds, believing that everyone should feel included, valued and inspired. As a Church school, we are committed to creating a safe, thoughtful and caring environment where every young person can flourish—both academically and personally.
We believe creativity unlocks potential and helps our students grow in confidence and curiosity.

We encourage ambition—not just for qualifications, but for the kind of people our students want to become.

We aim high—for every student, every day—and support them to give their best in all they do.

We are supported by the Oxford Diocese, which plays a key role in helping us grow as a Church of England school. The Diocese offers guidance, training, and resources that help us live out our Christian vision and values in daily school life.
Our approach is rooted in seven core Christian values, which help us grow together as a kind, respectful and thoughtful community. They are inspired by the life and teaching of Jesus, but they are shared by people of all faiths—and none.
As students grow through their time at Chiltern Hills Academy, the school’s core values are brought to life in both everyday interactions and special moments. The ethos of honesty, compassion, and hope becomes part of the way students learn to treat each other, approach challenges, and contribute to the wider world. Whether through acts of kindness, leadership opportunities, or thoughtful discussions in class, these values become deeply embedded—shaping the character and confidence of each individual along the way.
We take responsibility for our learning and actions. We stay focused, work hard, and do our best, even when things are challenging.
“God did not give us a spirit that makes us afraid but a spirit of power and love and self-discipline.”
2 Timothy 1:7
We treat everyone with dignity and fairness—whatever their background, beliefs or culture. We speak kindly and listen with care.
“Show proper respect to everyone.”
1 Peter 2:17
We build a school community based on kindness, friendship and generosity of spirit—always seeking to lift each other up.
“Love one another as I have loved you.”
John 13:34
We look to the future with confidence. We know that by learning and growing together, we can create a brighter tomorrow.
“We are hoping for something we do not have yet, and we are waiting for it patiently.”
Romans 8:25
We tell the truth and act with integrity. Trust and honesty help us learn, work and grow together as a united community.
“Tell each other the truth, because we are all parts of the same body.”
Ephesians 4:25
We all make mistakes. Learning to forgive—and being forgiven—helps us heal, rebuild trust, and move forward together.
“Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.”
Matthew 6:12
We support one another—especially those who are struggling, new to our school, or in need of care and understanding.
“Be kind and compassionate to one another.”
Ephesians 4:32
Beyond the classroom, students are encouraged to explore new experiences that challenge and inspire. From sport and performance to debate and volunteering, these opportunities build independence, teamwork, and self-belief.
Students grow in confidence and character, often surprising themselves with what they can achieve. These moments of discovery are as important as academic progress and prepare them for life beyond school.

As a Church of England school, we are proud of our strong links with St Mary’s Church, Chesham and the Parish of Great Chesham, who support the spiritual life of our school.
We are part of the Oxford Diocese, and work closely with them to enrich the life and learning of our students and staff.
