Our Governors

At Chiltern Hills Academy, our Governing Board plays a vital role in guiding the strategic direction of our school. Made up of a committed team of volunteers, our governors bring a wealth of experience and expertise from different walks of life. What unites them is a shared belief in our values—honesty, compassion, and hope—and a deep commitment to helping every student thrive.

The Governing Board supports the school’s leadership, ensures accountability, and upholds the vision and Christian ethos of our Academy. Together, we work to create a safe, ambitious, and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to “Live life in all its fullness” (John 10:10).

Our Trust and Governance

Chiltern Hills Academy is governed by a board of trustees under our single-academy trust structure. This model provides us with greater autonomy over curriculum design, budgeting, and school improvement priorities.

Our trustees work closely with school leaders to ensure we deliver a high-quality education that reflects our values and vision. Their role includes setting the school’s strategic direction, ensuring financial oversight, and holding senior staff to account for performance and wellbeing across the school.

Thinking About Becoming a Governor?

Being a school governor is an incredibly rewarding way to give back to the community and help shape the future for young people. If you’re interested in learning more about what’s involved, please contact the Clerk to the Governing Board:

Our Members

Chiltern Hills Academy is a single-academy trust. The three trust members are:

  • The Oxford Diocese Board of Education
  • Gordon Joyner, Deputy Director (Development & Support),
  • ODBE Chair of Governors of the Trust

These members hold a vital oversight role, ensuring the trust remains true to its founding principles and values.

Governing Board

Our governors also serve as Directors of Chiltern Hills Academy Trust, in accordance with our Articles of Association. They contribute their time and knowledge across a number of key committees, supporting and challenging the school’s leadership in equal measure.
