STAFF
Our staff share a deep commitment to our values -honesty, respect, compassion, love, forgiveness, self-discipline and hope – and work together to create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment where every young person can flourish.
From classroom teachers to support staff, every member of our team plays a vital role in helping students Create, Aspire and Excel, and in guiding them to ‘live life in all its fullness’ (John 10:10).
Our Senior Leadership Team is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the school and ensuring high-quality teaching, care and outcomes for every student.
We believe that strong pastoral care is central to helping students thrive. Our safeguarding team works closely with families and staff to keep every child safe and supported.
Our Learning Support Department, led by Mrs Fiona Downing (SENDCo) and Mrs Heather Smith (SEND Manager), ensures students with additional needs get the personalised support they deserve. A large team of Learning Support Assistants work across the school to deliver in-class help and small group interventions.
We are also proud to have a fully accessible site, offering strong provision for students with physical disabilities, emotional needs, and English as an Additional Language (EAL).
Each subject area is led by an experienced Curriculum Leader who oversees teaching and learning in their department. Our team brings passion, expertise and ambition to help students succeed across the curriculum—from English, Maths and Science, to Art, PE and Performing Arts.
Each year group is supported by a dedicated Head of Year, Assistant Year Leader, and a team of Academic Form Tutors. These staff guide students through their academic journey and offer day-to-day pastoral care, helping build strong, trusting relationships.
Our Sixth Form team provides tailored academic and wellbeing support to help every student prepare for life beyond school—whether that’s university, an apprenticeship or the world of work.
Behind the scenes, our support and admin teams keep Chiltern Hills Academy running smoothly—from IT and finance, to counselling, exams, attendance, and the front office. Their work ensures our school is a safe, well-organised and caring place to learn.
Staff Who Guide, Inspire and Empower
Our staff play a pivotal role in helping students grow into confident, capable young people—especially in Sixth Form, where learners take on greater responsibility for their future. Teachers, tutors and mentors work closely with students to understand their individual strengths, support their academic goals, and nurture personal growth.
Whether it’s preparing for university applications, exploring career options, or building leadership skills, our team is there every step of the way. The result? Students leave Chiltern Hills Academy not only well-qualified, but empowered to face the future with clarity, self-belief and ambition.
