Feedback and Evaluation

At Chiltern Hills Academy, we are committed to offering a careers programme that truly makes a difference. To achieve this, we listen carefully to the voices of our students and staff, and we use their feedback to strengthen and refine what we do. By evaluating our programme regularly, we ensure it remains relevant, inspiring, and effective for every learner.

How We Gather Feedback

We use a variety of methods to understand the impact of our careers education and identify areas for improvement:

  • Destination Surveys – we track where our Year 11 and Year 13 students move on to, whether that’s further study, apprenticeships, or employment.
  • Post-Activity Feedback – after each careers activity, students complete online forms so we can evaluate what worked well and what could be improved.
  • Futures Skills Questionnaire – completed by all students in Years 7–13, this helps us understand how well our programme is building essential employability and life skills.
  • Student Ambassadors – elected pupils represent the “student voice,” working with our Careers Team and other Buckinghamshire schools to share ideas and experiences.
  • Teacher Careers Champions – selected staff members attend training and development sessions through Bucks Skills Hub, helping us embed careers learning across the curriculum.

Why It Matters

By listening to our students and staff, we can:

  • Identify any gaps in knowledge about pathways and opportunities.
  • Adapt our provision to meet the needs of different year groups and individuals.
  • Ensure our programme continues to raise aspirations and prepare students for life beyond school.

Our goal is simple: to keep improving so that every student leaves Chiltern Hills Academy with the confidence, skills, and knowledge they need to thrive in the future.

How We Measure Careers Success at CHA

We want every student to feel confident and well-prepared for their next steps. To make sure our careers programme delivers, we:

  • Track destinations of all Year 11 & Year 13 students.
  • Gather student feedback after each activity.
  • Run a Futures Skills survey across Years 7–13.
  • Work with Student Ambassadors to bring forward pupil voice.
  • Train Teacher Careers Champions to embed careers in lessons.

This feedback helps us improve our programme year after year — ensuring it remains inspiring, practical, and tailored to our students’ needs.
